TUCSON, AZ–(Marketwire – Feb 10, 2012) – CDEX Inc. (OTCBB: CEXI) today announced that to achieve a debt structure that would allow the Company to continue to develop its leading edge products in the healthcare markets with the ValiMed G4 medication safety system and in the security market with its ID2 Meth Scanner and Pocket ID2 Meth Scanner it has retained the law firm of Eric Slocum Sparks, P.C. to assist in the financial restructuring through the voluntary filing of a Chapter 11 reorganization in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Arizona. During the restructuring, the Company intends to continue operating as normal, without interruption.

The Company’s Board of Directors determined that Chapter 11 reorganization provides the most effective and efficient means to restructure with minimal impact on the business, and is in the best interest of the Company, its stakeholders and customers. “Although the Company has worked closely with its noteholders and other creditors and constituents over the past year, which led to the reduction of certain obligations, the Company needs to complete its comprehensive restructuring due to its current inability to negotiate restructuring terms with all noteholders,” said Jeffrey Brumfield, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of CDEX.

CDEX intends to file motions with the Court to ensure the Company’s ability to continue its normal operations, including the ability to continue the development, sale and service of all of its products. The Company anticipates receiving approval from the Court within the next several days. “All forms of debt incurred prior to the commencement of the Company’s Chapter 11 case that have not been paid is intended to be resolved through the Company’s Plan of Reorganization,” said Brumfield.

“Throughout this restructuring process, we are committed to working as quickly and efficiently as possible to appropriately restructure CDEX so that it can emerge from Chapter 11 as a strong company, well-positioned to compete effectively in the marketplace,” continued Brumfield.

CDEX Inc. (CDEX) develops manufactures and distributes products for the healthcare and security markets. The company focuses its resources on marketing and improving real-time chemical detection products using patented technologies. CDEX creates reference signatures of substances of interest, such as selected narcotics, explosive compounds and medicines. Its Healthcare Market line includes ValiMed™ Medication Validation System (MVS) product line, which includes validation of substances, training and quality assurance.

TUCSON, AZ–(Marketwire – Jan 26, 2012) – CDEX Inc. (OTCBB: CEXI), a leading developer of chemical detection products using patented technologies for use in healthcare, safety and security markets, today announced the appointment of Jason Bradley Terrell, M.D. as medical director of the company. Dr. Terrell will be responsible for CDEX’s research and development, as well as regulatory and medical affairs related to the launch and ongoing development of the Valimed G4 drug validation system.

Jeff Brumfield, chairman and chief executive officer of CDEX, stated, “We are very pleased to welcome Dr. Terrell to our team. He brings to CDEX a unique blend of medical science expertise and progressive medical field business operations background. He will assist in the market application and implementation of CDEX technologies in the medical field and advise on the ongoing development to address other unique unmet needs where the VG4 may be instrumental in detecting foreign related substances.”

Dr. Terrell is currently a corporate medical director for Any Lab Test Now©, the largest direct access medical testing franchise in the United States. Dr. Terrell currently owns and operates multiple medical laboratory testing facilities in the Southwest United States. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from Hardin-Simmons University, graduating Summa Cum Laude and recipient of the Holland Medal of Honor. He earned his MD from the University of Texas at Houston School of Medicine.

“I am excited to join the outstanding team at CDEX. The technology promises to have a global impact in multiple industries. I believe the Valimed G4 will revolutionize parenteral medication safety practices and narcotic diversion control in both healthcare and closely related industries,” stated Jason B. Terrell, M.D., medical director of CDEX. “What’s really exciting is that CDEX’s patented technology can be applied to the analysis of blood, urine, saliva, and other bodily fluids. Preliminary data suggests that the technology provides many advantages over current diagnostics techniques, including the ability to detect lower molecular concentrations, increased sensitivity and specificity with real-time analysis. One of my goals as medical director is to facilitate additional research studies and trials in these areas to expand future product use.”

TUCSON – When inmates are booked into the Pima County jail just what are they trying to sneak in?

Video surveillance provided by the Pima County jail shows a woman reaching into her sock, pulling out crystal meth and then putting it in her mouth attempting to swallow it.

Corrections officers see this through the video monitors approach her and tell her to spit it out. She finally does.

Lt. Sean Stewart who heads Security Services says, “Had she swallowed that it probably would have killed her or at least made her extremely ill.”

On a daily basis, corrections officers like Todd Mattas often find contraband during pat downs.

“We’re the first line of defense as far as preventing any new arrestees from getting injured as well as staff.”

Lt. Stewart says inmates will try anything to smuggle in drugs, weapons, and even cash.

“You’ll find stuff taped to the inner thigh up near the groin area.”

Inmates getting booked have to go thru a metal detector much like the airports, also like the airport a Morpho detection machine.

Sgt. Steve Street says, “It detects any drugs that anybody has on their hands, their clothing any part of their body we decide to test and we do it randomly.”

If the strength reading is 3-point-1 or higher, the inmates are stripped searched.

Lt. Stewart says, “Its just one slippery slope if that stuff gets into your housing unit within a week that whole housing unit could be out of control.”

One more tool to keep the jail as safe and secure as possible.

Not every inmate is stripped search the U-S Supreme court says, officers have to have probable cause to do that.

MIAMI | A teenager who lost all four limbs because of a vaccination error has won a $12.6 million award in a lawsuit against the University of Miami medical school.

The Miami jury reached the verdict Friday in the case of Shaniah Rolle of Miramar, the South Florida SunSentinel reported. A judge will likely reduce the award because jurors found Shaniah’s mother partly at fault for not giving her enough medication.

Shaniah had her spleen removed as a newborn 13 years ago. She got a vaccine designed to prevent infections but the medication had expired five months earlier. Shaniah later got an infection that led to amputation of her arms and legs.

University of Miami attorneys had contended Shaniah would have gotten the infection despite the vaccine. An appeal is likely.

VG4 System Features Multi-Compound Measurement and Validation

TUCSON, AZ–(Marketwire – Dec 6, 2011) – CDEX Inc. (OTCBB: CEXI), a leading developer of chemical detection products using patented technologies for use in healthcare, safety and security markets, today demonstrated its recently launched ValiMed™ G4 multi-component medication and narcotic detection system at the 46th Annual Midyear ASHP Clinical Meeting and Exhibition. The ASHP conference is being held at the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, Louisiana, December 4-8, 2011.

The ValiMed™ G4 will be showcased at booth 247 at the conference.
The ValiMed G4 drug validation system helps healthcare providers ensure patient safety and control costs by reducing medication errors. The patented detection process identifies drug strengths and volume-by-weight in real-time, validating proper dose, diluents and concentration of high-risk compounded medications and treatment solutions. The VG4 device will help healthcare facilities comply with Joint Commission compliance requirements and USP 797 guidelines for compounding sterile preparations (CSPs), and will integrate with electronic medical record (EMR) platforms.

“With the recent launch and commercial production of our ValiMed™ G4 system, we are excited to showcase the system at the ASHP Midyear conference, where a national and international audience of industry professionals will witness the power of our technology. We are the first to commercialize an affordable advanced measuring system, with multi-component capabilities that will enhance and improve the quality of care that pharmacies and clinical professionals provide. The conference should provide an optimum platform for our ValiMed G4 to gain market penetration and build industry buzz for our system. We expect to deliver several units over the next six months as the market interest continues to spread for the VG4,” stated Jeff Brumfield, chairman and chief executive officer of CDEX.

CDEX’s VG4 significantly raises the bar for patient medication safety and pharmaceutical drug loss prevention. The ValiMed G4 provides cutting edge features and benefits over existing systems available in the market. In addition to validating high-risk medications before leaving the clinical or pharmacy environment, the ValiMed G4 will also monitor and discourage the diversion of controlled substances by validating the returned or unused narcotics from patient treatment areas or surgery suites. Other applications for the ValiMed G4 system include counterfeit medication monitoring, regulatory compliance and training of clinical and pharmacy personnel.

The American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) Midyear Clinical Meeting and Exhibition is the largest gathering of pharmacists in the world. With its focus on improving patient care, the conference is attended by more than 20,000 pharmacy professionals from 86 countries. For over four decades, the ASHP Midyear Clinical Meeting has provided health-system pharmacy practitioners with a venue for updating their knowledge, networking with colleagues, enhancing their skills, and learning about the latest products and technologies available in the market.
